Throughout this second week of work I have created a series of pillows with my photo shoot hand embroidered onto them with inspiration of Sarah Walton and her loose machine stitched images on top fabric.
Each pillow took a day to stitch using a quick sketch on top fabric to get the general outline of the image then work in with smaller details later on within each pillow. Using a fine black outline to present the lack of motivation and how life has been stripped down from all colour and excitement due to the stresses of the pandemic. By using this negative space it allows me to create the bleek and mundane emotions we are collectively experiencing. I chose to communicate this photoshoot onto a pillow to further present the idea of exhaustion and wanting to sleep to scape any problems - tiredness and lack of motivation so over consuming that sleep is seen as an escape for many people currently.
These pillows I see as highly successful, however, moving forward within the last week of the project I am unsure of the work I should create as this idea has been produced as my final outcome. I feel if I added anything else to these pieces fo work or put work in for the sake of it, it would take away from the message of my work as the pieces I have created are highly personal by filling them with my current emotions.
