.

This week I started building my final piece of work by stuffing tubes with shredded cardboard. Then temporarily put them up to begin adding my layers of latex to them to give them the rich dark caramel colour similar to bile - showing my ideas of nausea. This piece will be suspended in a cluster, able for people to walk through and feel the contrast in texture of the soft fabric, cardboard and latex on the tubes. Using the texture to show ideas of anxiety and discomfort about personal space by creating this piece to be interactive for audiences. Breaking the personal space boundaries through the scattered tubes. The variety of textures within the tubes also adds into my research upon many sensory discomforts - how they feel on the skin is general uncomfortable for many to experience. Using skin colours to personify/create a bodily appearance to present people, personifying my piece/the anxiety through the use of this.

Initially this piece was going to be in a row, however, when suspended to put on the latex I found it looked better spaced out / had a more likely appearance to people, which is the appearance I am using in my work.

Along with this I have decided not to use my projection and audio piece further within my work/as a final piece. On Sunday I tried to create the audio of chewing but I felt it wasn’t working as successfully as I desired. If I had enough time I would find a solution to this to make the piece work, however, with all my other pieces I feel the collection I have already is successful within presenting my ideas of discomfort. This is the recent changes within my work.
