This week of working wasn’t a very busy one and more based around planning/experimenting. I covered a chair on expanding foam and then started to paint but also created the plans for my next larger piece of work which should hopefully take me a few weeks to create. Using expanding foam and fabric covered in latex together to create n interactive piece exploring personal space to create discomfort upon audiences.

My expanding foam chair took longer than I thought it would and much more foam than I thought was needed, which is always good to find out when trialing these things. The painting process has been quite difficult due to its shape, however in my next piece it’s more flat which should make it more easier to paint/allow me to add more details to the chair.

I still need to gloss the chair and blend add a few more details to make it appear how my previous piece was painted. I don’t find this chair successful as the shape made it significantly harder to paint which is why in my next piece it is all flat similar to my first experiment with expanding foam. Half way through painting the chair I also have run out of acrylic paints and can’t buy any more at the moment which has effected the flow of my work but majority of the chair is covered for the moment. I will be going into college in the half term to start on my next piece of work using expanding foam and sewing the fabric tubes. Along with any catching upon sketchbook/research which is neeeded to do. However, I the half term week before I will be working upon my research and catching up in my sketchbook along with writing my midway evaluation and creating a powerpoint of ten important developments in my project. These are my plans for my next piece which I will be starting on in half term:
